Our activity in the Cath Lab has always been able to generate data and new ideas that we translated in clinical research studies performed either on our own or with the collaboration of international researchers.

This facilitated the inclusion of our data in international studies assessing novel devices in the fields of carotid stenting, peripheral angioplasty, coronary interventions and structural procedures: we have been principal investigators in many multi center trials and we plan to increase our scientific involvement in the next future.

The most important teaching we derived from Clinical and translational research is about the unique opportunity of checking and improving our clinical results by critically reviewing the protocols and the procedures in order to rapidly correct the mistakes and provide the best clinical options to our patients.

Doing this without a strong scientific activity on the background would be impossible.
